Today we took a whale watching cruise out into the waters off of Waikiki.
And we saw whales.
It was also interesting watching the airplanes take off almost directly over us.
Later in the day we took a helicopter ride over the island. The first time for all of us (including Brian). Great views of Honolulu.
We had good views of Diamond Head from the air.
The views of the island were spectacular.
The Dole Pineapple Plantation from the air.
We also had a good look at Pearl Harbor.
The four of us and our helicopter.
February 5 and 6, 2010 - Kauai
We flew to Kauai on the 5th and didn't seem to take any pictures. We are all very pleased with our condo overlooking the water. It will be a nice visit in Kauai.
On the 6th we took a drive along the coastline to the northeastern corner of the island.
We saw the lighthouse,
a common myna bird,
and had great views of the coastline.
And of course there were the beaches.

February 7, 2010 - Wiamea Canyon
Today we drove the opposite way around the island.
We saw a red-crested cardinal.
And enjoyed the views of Wiamea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

February 8 , 2010 - Wailua and Opaekaa Falls and the Kamokila Hawaiian Village
Today we are wandering the island and seeing quite a variety of things.
We saw a couple of waterfalls:
Wailua Falls
Opaekaa Falls
We had some good views of the Wailua River,
lots of tropical flowers,
some zebra doves,
and the Spouting Horn Blowhole.
We stopped to visit the Poli Ahu Heiau Sacred Ruins
and the Kamokila Hawaiian Village.
There we saw a pretty peacock
and a Pandanus Tree
